We study how organisms relate to each other and to their environment

  • Work is carried out on environmental stress in fish, with focus on immune defence and stress hormones. The research is lead by Associate Professor Yngvar A. Olsen.
  • Within environmental chemistry, our research is carried out on the effects of climate change on natural organic matter (NOM) in water. The research is lead by Associate Professor Dag O. Andersen.
  • Chemical analysis of bio-organic material is the focus of one laboratory group. The research is lead by Professor Alfred A. Christy.
  • Within alpine ecology, our focus is on reproductive and pollination biology in plants in light of climate change. The research is lead by Associate Professor Sylvi M. Sandvik.
  • We try to disclose secrets behind chemical communication in aquatic animals. The research is lead by Professor Ole B. Stabell.
