| In August and September 2011 a new cohort of students in the master programme in Development Management met in Kristiansand for a three week face-to-face session. International and Norwegian students will study the master programme through the Internet for the next two years. The meeting in Kristiansand will be the first of two face-to-face sessions where students, lecturers and coordinators meet. Read more about the master programme. |
In 2010 the three year agreement between Department of Development Studies and Xstrata Nickel Nikkelwork in Kristiansand was renewed for a new three year period. The agreement gives graduated students from the development studies programmes an opportunity to apply for a four month internship for the Falcondo Foundation in the Dominican Republic.
In the autumn semester 2010, the fourth group of students will do their internship at the Falcondo Foundation with financial support from Xstrata Nickel in Kristiansand.

The field course (previously called study tour) takes place in a country in either Africa (Tanzania), Asia (Indonesia, Sri Lanka) or Latin America (Bolivia) under the leadership of the course instructor. The duration is approximately one month.
