Study Tour Indonesia 2011
Sunrise in Indonesia
We all travelled from Norway where the snow and frost were draining the energy out of all of us, down to Indonesia where the Asian warmth and humidity overwhelmed us as soon as we got off the plane. The excitement and expectations were high. For some of us this was the first trip without parents to make all the decisions for us. We were now making our own experiences and meeting new people from the other end of the world, who greeted us with open arms.
The students gathered up after lunch at St. Paul Major Seminary Ledalero
The first task was to travel from Norway to Mangsit in Lombok on our own, we were given the date 8th of January at 16.00. Everyone managed to get there on time. Even professor Stein was impressed that we all managed to arrive on time, especially considering that inside the group there were up to seven different itineraries.
Our journey through Indonesia has truly been an adventure we will never forget. It has taught us about how to respect different cultures and how to cope when spending every day with up to 28 different persons to relate to. The four weeks we were traveling around were tiring but in the end we were all happy about the outcome.
