Department of ICT
The department is organised in a matrix structure featuring both competence and application areas.
All staff is grouped according to competence into three competence groups.
Across the competence groups, we have identified three application areas where we cooperate in multidisciplinary research centres.
The mobile communication systems group handles all aspects of mobile communication topics, starting from properties of communication channels in the Mobile Communications Group up to mobile applications and services in the Agder Mobility Lab.
Systems and Security Group
The multimedia group handles the issues on the user side. It is concerned with application development and end-user aspects. Two major focus areas in this group are multimedia and mobile devices.
Multidisciplinary Research Centres
The centre is a multidisciplinary co-operation between the Faculty of Health and Sport Sciences, the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences, as well as the Faculty of Engineering and Science. The aim of the centre is to contribute to a better and more efficient use of technology for patients in their everyday life. Director: Associate Professor Rune Fensli.
CIEM’s primary objective is to facilitate a shift in Emergency Preparedness & Management by significantly advancing the solution of interlinked key problems in ICT, information systems and socio-cultural factors affecting the adoption of new solutions.
