Centre for European Studies (CES)

A network centre at University of Agder (UiA) and Agder Research Foundation (ARF) for research, teaching, information and documentation on issues pertaining to European developments and dynamics.
  • CES is multi-disciplinary and brings together political scientists, economists, organisational scientists, and humanists. The centre aims at stimulating activities such as research, conferences, workshops and education on European matters generally.
  • CES is a virtual centre organised around this joint web site. The centre has a minimum of formal organisation, permanent staff and physical space. CES is organisationally located to the University of Agder (UiA), Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences, and hosts 10 researchers on temporary basis. CES was founded informally in 1995 with the establishment of the European Integration Summer School.
  • CES was formally established in October 2002 with its own statutes by the Board of UiA and Agder Research Foundation.
